Crankshafts for motocross and enduro - power and strength of the lower part of the engine

( number of products: 79 )

Motocross crankshaft is a key component of the engine, which is responsible for transferring the force from the piston to the connecting rod and further to the transmission. In motocross and enduro, where engines reach very high revs and operate under extreme conditions, enduro crankshafts must be extremely durable and precisely balanced. At Bajamoto you will find cross crankshafts from top brands - Prox, Hot Rods, Vertex, Wossner and Namura.

When to replace the crankshaft?

New crankshaft cross is necessary in the case of:

  • excessive backlash on pivots and bearings,
  • noises or knocks from the lower part of the engine,
  • traces of overheating, pin knockout or seizure,
  • a full overhaul of the lower part of the engine,
  • damage after piston or connecting rod failure.

Key features of motocross and enduro crankshafts

  • high quality hardened alloy steel,
  • precise balance - smooth engine operation and reduced vibration,
  • availability of complete sets with bearings and seals,
  • dedicated to popular models of KTM, Honda, Yamaha, Husqvarna, GasGas, Kawasaki, Suzuki,
  • compliance with original OEM and racing specifications.

The motorcycle crankshaftmust be resistant to very high overloads. In extreme cases, they even reach several tons. Overloads include high temperatures and vibrations. You must admit that these are not factors that limit wear, but rather factors that can quickly lead to excessive wear.

This is whycrankshafts top brands such as Hot Rods, Prox, Wiseco etc. They are characterized by high quality, high resistance and very precise processing.

If at this point you are nervously wondering whether you missed the mandatory replacement of the connecting rod or whether you realized that something has been breaking there for some time. We therefore advise you to seriously consider revising the engine.

Damage to the crankshaftcan have, to put it mildly, disastrous consequences - and we mean tears in your eyes when it turns out that the crankshaft has accidentally damaged other components in the engine and the renovation may cost more than buying a new motorcycle.

Does the crankshaft always come with a connecting rod, bearings and seals?

Unfortunately, not always. It all depends on the manufacturer of the replacement part. Some manufacturers sell sets in which you will finda crankshaft (forged with connecting rods or a separate shaft with connecting rods)and additionally, the set includes the necessarybearings and shaft seals.

However, if there are no bearings in the shaft you choose, this is not a big problem because, for example, the Hot Rods brand offers sets of bearings and shaft seals for most popular 2T and 4T motorcycles.

It may also happen that the noise you hear is not due to damage to the shaft or connecting rod (we wish you this with all our hearts), but only because your shaft bearing has fallen out. Here the repair will be really low cost, but it is not worth delaying.

Cross and enduro motorcycles are, as you well know, highly competitive vehicles and using them for their intended purpose will require you to comply with service intervals.

Don't wait until the last minute to do something, as in the once famous saying "knock, knock - who's there? - pan."

Can I puncture the connecting rod in a motorcycle myself?

Well, we don't really recommend this treatment. Unless you are a mechanic and have the right equipment for it.

All the forces in the engine, i.e. rotational, tensile, shearing, twisting, etc., make the shaft unbalancedeven to a minimal extent and may lead to the need for another overhaul :). And don't let it occur to you to weigh it yourself or, worse still, try to balance the flywheel.

How to remove the crankshaft?

Before you even think about unscrewing the first screw, check the service manual and check whether you have the right tools. Some shafts have lubrication channels that can be easily damaged, most often when you want to forcefully remove it from the engine at all costs.

At bajamoto.pl you will findcrankshaftsof top brands, which are dedicated to mostcross, enduromotorcycles, but also toquads andATVs.

You will find here  crankshafts for 2T and 4T engines.

In addition, our offer includes other engine parts such as bearings and shaft seals, connecting rods, pistons, suspension parts and many, many more.
