How to find out if I have a defective water cooler on my motorcycle?

This is one of the most common questions we face. The main symptoms of damagewater coolerare, for example, escaping coolant, engine overheating, reduced engine power, visible leaks, corrosion on the radiator, visible deposits in the coolant, and the most trivial, i.e., an illuminated warning light or indicator.

Motorcycle radiator or is it really necessary?

Well, the motorcycle radiator is primarily responsible for effectively regulating the temperature in the motorcycle engine. Thanks to its shape and the use of coolant, it allows the motorcycle to effectively remove excess heat from the motorcycle.

Due to its location motorcycle radiators are unfortunately very vulnerable to damage when traversing heavy, rocky terrain.

Due to its shape and structure, a mechanically damaged water cooler is generally only suitable for discarding.

Unfortunately, damage can result not only from hitting hard rocks, tipping or other mishaps.

If you don't take care of the pressure in the cooling system, pouring less or too much coolant then excessive pressure can build up, which can burst the radiator tubing.

In addition, the water cooler can be damaged or clogged by using the wrong coolant. Therefore, we only use coolant dedicated to motorcycles for the water cooler in the motorcycle.

So how to check the coolant level in the water cooler?

Make sure the radiator and engine are cool - this will prevent accidental burns. On the side of the motorcycle you will find the coolant reservoir, and it is on this reservoir that you should find the "Low" or "Full" indicators. The amount of coolant should be between these dashes. There should not be too little or too much of it.
