Motocross and enduro tankpads - protecting your tank and making your motorcycle look stylish

( number of products: 4 )
Tank pads are protective grip panels for MX/enduro/off-road motorcycles that stick to the sides and top of the fuel tank or shrouds. They prevent your knees and riding pants from sliding under braking and in ruts, reduce scuffs from knee guards/braces and zippers, and help you keep a stable body position when you’re tired. A good tank pad also protects plastics and paint from boot rub, roosted sand, and constant contact from body armor when you’re moving forward in corners. When choosing, start with fit and compatibility: pick a model designed for your bike’s tank/shroud shape so the edges don’t lift and the pad doesn’t interfere with seat line or radiator shrouds. Next, select the material/type: grippy rubber for maximum knee lock, textured resin for balance, or clear film-style protection when you want minimal bulk. Consider riding conditions—mud and pressure washing demand stronger adhesive and deeper texture—and plan maintenance: clean plastics thoroughly, warm the surface before install, and avoid aggressive chemicals that can attack the glue. Common mistakes are applying pads over wax/silicone so they peel, or placing them where your knees never contact, wasting grip. Replace a tank pad when the texture is worn smooth, the edges start curling, or you see dirt creeping underneath; that grit will eat plastics fast. Before each ride, check the leading edges and press them down if needed. Tip: Degrease with isopropyl alcohol, heat the area lightly, then apply firm pressure for 60 seconds per side to lock the adhesive.
