Sealers for motocross and enduro - sealing and protecting the engine
( number of products: 587 )Sealers are essential for MX/enduro/off-road bikes when you need a reliable barrier against dust, mud, water, and pressure loss. They’re used across the bike to keep fluids where they belong and keep grit out of bearings and moving parts—think fork seals, oil seals, O-rings, gaskets, and sealing washers. Fresh, correctly fitted sealers help stop fork weep that soaks your front brake, prevent coolant or oil leaks that can ruin a ride, and protect steering head, wheel, and linkage areas from contamination that accelerates wear.
When choosing sealers, start with fit and compatibility: match exact model/year and the location (fork, engine, water pump, wheel, shock/linkage), and confirm dimensions and OEM references. Pick the right material/type: nitrile is common for oil, Viton handles higher heat and aggressive fluids, and double-lip designs improve dirt exclusion on off-road setups. Consider riding conditions—deep mud, sand, pressure washing—and choose seals with better wipers or dust lips. Maintenance matters too: a clean install surface, proper lubrication, and correct tool use prevent pinched lips and premature leaks.
Common mistakes include reusing flattened O-rings, installing seals dry, or ignoring worn bushings and shafts that will cut new seals fast. Replace sealers if you see oil mist on fork legs, coolant residue, milky oil, or gritty play in wheel/linkage bearings—those are signs the sealing system is already compromised.
Tip: Before installing a new fork seal, wrap the fork tube edge/clip groove with thin tape and lube the lip—this prevents tearing during assembly.
