How to find out if I have a defective water cooler on my motorcycle?

This is one of the most common questions we face. The main symptoms of damagewater coolerare, for example, escaping coolant, engine overheating, reduced engine power, visible leaks, corrosion on the radiator, visible deposits in the coolant, and the most trivial, i.e., an illuminated warning light or indicator.

Motorcycle radiator or is it really necessary?

Well, the motorcycle radiator is primarily responsible for effectively regulating the temperature in the motorcycle engine. Thanks to its shape and the use of coolant, it allows the motorcycle to effectively remove excess heat from the motorcycle.

Due to its location motorcycle radiators are unfortunately very vulnerable to damage when traversing heavy, rocky terrain.

Due to its shape and structure, a mechanically damaged water cooler is generally only suitable for discarding.

Unfortunately, damage can result not only from hitting hard rocks, tipping or other mishaps.

If you don't take care of the pressure in the cooling system, pouring less or too much coolant then excessive pressure can build up, which can burst the radiator tubing.

In addition, the water cooler can be damaged or clogged by using the wrong coolant. Therefore, we only use coolant dedicated to motorcycles for the water cooler in the motorcycle.

So how to check the coolant level in the water cooler?

Make sure the radiator and engine are cool - this will prevent accidental burns. On the side of the motorcycle you will find the coolant reservoir, and it is on this reservoir that you should find the "Low" or "Full" indicators. The amount of coolant should be between these dashes. There should not be too little or too much of it.

Radiator covers or worth it?

Definitely yes. You can invest metal or plastic covers. The plastic ones will be lighter, but, unfortunately, a little less resistant to hard knocks against stones, for example.

In addition, you can effectively protect the radiator from mud with specialnylon shields for Twin Air brand radiators that prevent mud from sticking to the radiator and clogging its ducts.

We offer several different radiator manufacturers such as Nachman Psychic and JMT, for example.

We have water coolers dedicated to top motorcycles such as Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, KTM, Kawasaki, Gas Gas, Sherco and many, many more.

Remember that you can buy radiators by the piece, you do not have to buy immediatelyright andleft cooler.

You can also findpsychic coolers with increased capacity, which guarantee more effective engine cooling, even in extreme conditions.

Coolers in this category are MX/off-road motorcycle radiators and related parts that keep your engine temperature stable when you’re pushing hard in sand, tight woods, or rocky climbs. A healthy radiator prevents overheating, power drop, boiling coolant, and warning lights, and it helps you finish the ride instead of parking the bike next to the track with steam coming off the shrouds. When choosing a radiator, start with exact fit and compatibility: match brand/model/year and check whether you need left, right, or a pair. Next, pick the right type for your riding—standard replacement for everyday enduro, or increased-capacity units for extreme heat, slow technical sections, or high-load racing. Consider construction and durability (core thickness, weld quality), and plan protection: radiator braces/covers and nylon mud shields help a lot in MX ruts and enduro slop. Keep maintenance in mind—use motorcycle-specific coolant, keep the system at the correct level, and make sure the cap and hoses are in good shape. Replace or inspect the cooler if you see bent fins restricting airflow, corrosion, wet spots, crusty deposits, persistent coolant loss, or repeated overheating. Common mistakes are running the wrong coolant, overfilling/underfilling the reservoir, and ignoring small leaks until pressure bursts a tube. Tip: After every muddy ride, rinse the radiator gently from the back side and straighten fins carefully—airflow is cooling.
