Motocross and enduro fuel faucets - flow control and off-road reliability

( number of products: 4 )
Fuel Faucets are the small but critical control point between your tank and carb on MX/off-road bikes. A good petcock lets you shut fuel off for transport, switch to reserve when the loop gets long, and prevent messy leaks that soak your jersey, pants, or goggles bag. It also helps stop hard-start and flooding issues caused by fuel seeping past the valve when the bike sits after a muddy ride. When choosing a fuel faucet, start with fit and compatibility: match your exact tank, bolt pattern, outlet angle, hose size, and ON/OFF/RES layout to your model year. Pick the right type and materials—quality aluminum or fuel-safe composite bodies, ethanol-resistant seals, and a smooth, positive lever feel are key for reliability. Consider riding conditions: sand and vibration punish cheap valves, while cold weather makes stiff levers worse. Maintenance matters too—choose designs with serviceable screens and rebuild kits so you can refresh O-rings instead of replacing the whole unit. Common mistakes are forcing the lever when it’s gummed up, or routing the fuel line with a kink that starves the carb under load. Replace or rebuild your petcock if you see weeping at the gasket, fuel smell after parking, inconsistent flow at high RPM, or a lever that won’t hold position. Always check the tank sealing surface and clean out debris that can hold the valve slightly open. Tip: After every wash, cycle ON/OFF/RES once and check for drips—catching a small leak early saves a flooded engine and a wasted moto.
