Exhaust and muffler springs - secure connection and tightness of the system

( number of products: 57 )
Exhaust springs keep your MX/enduro/off-road exhaust system tight and sealed by tensioning the pipe-to-silencer joints and expansion chamber connections. They prevent annoying rattles, stop exhaust leaks that steal low-end power, and help protect the pipe tabs and mounts from vibration damage when you’re smashing whoops in a jersey and body armor or riding technical singletrack in knee braces and pants. When choosing exhaust springs, start with fit and compatibility: match the length and hook style to your pipe and silencer tabs, and measure the free length against the installed distance so you get proper tension. Pick the right material and finish—stainless is best for wet, muddy rides and frequent washes, while coated springs can work for drier conditions. Consider the spring rate/thickness for high-vibration setups, and plan simple maintenance: clean the hooks, check alignment, and inspect after hard impacts or pipe removals. Replace springs if you see stretching, rust, broken coils, or if the exhaust joint starts weeping black spooge. Common mistakes are running springs that are too long (weak tension, leaks) or too short (overstressed tabs, snapped springs), and reusing fatigued springs after repeated silencer repacks or pipe swaps. Tip: After installing, tug each spring with a puller and confirm it’s seated fully in both hooks—if it can rotate freely or looks twisted, re-seat it before the next ride.
