Clutch basket rubbers for motocross and enduro - vibration dampening and reliable clutch operation

( number of products: 24 )
Clutch basket rubbers are small but critical dampers used inside the clutch basket to cushion the drive pulses between the primary gear and the basket on MX/enduro/off-road bikes. Fresh rubbers reduce drivetrain lash and chatter, help prevent harsh engagement, and can take the edge off that rattly, “hammering” feel under load. If your bike feels jerky on throttle pick-up, sounds noisy at idle, or you’re chasing inconsistent clutch feel after hard motos and technical trails, worn basket rubbers are a common culprit. Choose the right set by matching exact fit and compatibility to your bike model, year, and basket version—tolerances matter. Pay attention to rubber type and hardness (durometer): firmer compounds hold up better to aggressive riding and high heat, while softer options can feel smoother but may wear faster. Consider your riding conditions: deep sand, high-RPM track work, and lots of clutch abuse in enduro sections accelerate wear. During service, inspect the basket gear rivets/bolts, mating surfaces, and the clutch hub for notching, and replace oil-contaminated or heat-cycled rubbers. Common mistakes are reusing old dampers during a clutch rebuild and ignoring play between the gear and basket. Replace rubbers when you can feel noticeable free movement, see cracking, flattening, or chunks missing, or when noise and vibration increase despite fresh plates and correct oil. Always check for metal debris in the oil and ensure fasteners are torqued to spec if your basket design allows service. Tip: Mark the gear-to-basket position before disassembly so you can reassemble aligned and reduce the chance of added vibration.
