When choosing, start with compatibility: check if your bike runs premix, oil injection, or both, and follow the manufacturer ratio. Then pick the oil type—synthetic for harder riding and cleaner burning, semi-synthetic for mixed use, mineral mostly for easy trail pace or older setups. Match viscosity and specs to your conditions: sand and long WOT pulls need stronger film strength; cold weather benefits from oils that mix easily and reduce smoke on startup.
